Safeguarding Checks

In order to comply with our Safeguarding Policy, successful applicants will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Certificate with Child Barring List check, or equivalent certification from their home country.

  • France - Casier Judiciare (Police Clearance Certificate)
  • Netherlands - Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag (VOG) (Certificate of Good Conduct)
  • Germany - Führungszeugnis (Certificate of Good Conduct)
  • Spain - Certificado de Antecedentes Penales (Criminal Record Certificate).

A criminal record will not necessarily preclude you from being considered for an animateur role, but you are required to disclose any convictions, cautions, reprimands, or final warnings, including those that have been spent.

Have you had a criminal conviction, caution, reprimand or final warning in the UK or any country?
Do you have a police enquiry or prosecution pending in this or any other country?
Has your conduct ever caused or been alleged to cause mental or physical harm to a child or young person or put a child at risk?
Are you currently the subject of any unresolved safeguarding investigation or allegation?
Reasonable adjustments

Our animateur team are required to undertake a variety of tasks, preparing and delivering an age-specific programme and activities for our younger guests. This requires a good level of mobility, flexibility and stamina.

You will be required to undertake physical tasks such as moving chairs, launching canoes or lifting equipment - is there any reasonable adjustment that may be required in order for you to fulfil this aspect of the role?
You will be required to interact with guests of all ages, and may be required to assist with working in the coffee shop or bar, or hiring out bikes – is there any reasonable adjustment that may be required in order for you to fulfil this aspect of the role?
You may be required to prepare and deliver talks as part of the children's/youth programme - are there any reasonable adjustments that may be required in order for you to fulfil this aspect of the role?
Physical ability

To assist with our planning, please let us know your physical ability when it comes to lifting and moving chairs. While we aim to make all physical tasks as manageable as possible, we do need a core team who are able to fulfil this task. Please indicate the heaviest task you would feel comfortable undertaking (we will assume you can also manage lighter tasks)

Providing accurate information is essential to the running of the site and program. If issues arise from inaccurate or unshared information, we may need to end your contract early and ask you to leave earlier than originally agreed.
